This Standard specifies the guide wire temporarily (within 24 h) used for the aides of position adjustment and transfer of catheters, tubes, etc. to be inserted into the body (hereafter referred to as "guide wire"). This Standard does not apply to a guide wire to be inserted into blood vessel.
Moreover, JIS T 3242 : 2005 may be applied until July 28th, 2014.
