scope:
Purpose. To provide CJCS policy and guidance for planning and executing operations security (OPSEC) in support of joint military operations, activities, plans, training, exercises, and capabilities.
Applicability. This instruction applies to the Joint Staff, Combatant Commands, Services, Combat Support Agencies, and joint activities reporting to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (hereinafter referred to collectively as the DoD Components").
