Die ATV DIN 18384 „Blitzschutzanlagen" gilt nicht für elektrische Kabelund Leitungsanlagen (siehe ATV DIN 18382 „Nieder- und Mittelspannungsanlagen mit Nennspannungen bis 36 kV"). 

Ergänzend gilt die ATV DIN 18299 „Allgemeine Regelungen für Bauarbeiten jeder Art", Abschnitte 1 bis 5. Bei Widersprüchen gehen die Regelungen der ATV DIN 18384 vor.
