INTRODUCTION
The Cooling Tower Institute (CTI) provides a practical medium of exchange for all basic data of interest to manufacturers, suppliers, and users of cooling towers and associated products. One encouraged method of communication is through publication of technical papers, standards, and reports. Prior publication practice has been to utilize the Inch-Pound (I-P) units of measurement based on the "inch" and the "pound" as commonly employed in the United States. The International System of Units, generally known as "SI", is a modernized metric system that has been adopted by the International Standards Organization and has become the worldwide trend for measurement expression. As an internationally recognized organization, CTI also has adopted the SI system for use in new or revised publications. Documents will provide two (dual) units of measurement, the primary unit of measurement will be expressed in rational SI units followed by secondary equivalent I-P units.
