LUL - MR-S-FR-0005

Metronet Generic Fire Safety Strategy

active, Most Current
Organization: LUL
Publication Date: 1 December 2006
Status: active
Page Count: 26
scope:

This document covers all Metronet maintained stations and associated accommodation (e.g. train crew). Depots are currently covered by fire risk assessments although project specific fire strategies are being developed where new equipment/facilities are installed. A 'Fire Safety Engineering Strategy and risk assessment - Station Specific Supplement' shall be provided for each station to deal with those matters which cannot be dealt with under the generic heading. Identified risks will be highlighted in an appendix to this document. Together these documents shall provide the fire safety engineering strategy for each station and along with the Stations Operational and Emergency Plans and associated Work Place Risk Assessments will meet the requirements of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order.

Specific fire strategy documents may be required to cover any special risks or large projects e.g. accessibility projects (additional guidance is given in Attachment 4).

This document consolidates best practise guidance in line with previous agreements and consistent with existing contractual obligations. It is, however, conceivable that there may be projects which are commissioned that are unable to fully meet all of the best practise requirements herein. In this eventuality then any issues that arise are to be dealt with in accordance with the applicable contract.
