scope:
This Standard applies to remote emergency isolations being carried out immediately the "all clear" is given, and will be backed up with a site attendance by the Fire Systems Engineer to rectify the "fault", de-isolate, and leave the system fully operational.
This Standard is intended to be used to carry out isolations of the fire system device or devices in the event of an emergency only, i.e. station closures. Isolations for maintenance work, minor works, project work and any other works being carried out on stations will be performed in the normal manner, to conform to LU Standard Bb229 (Fire precautions: isolation of automatic fire detection and protection equipment) and Metronet Standard MR-S-FR-0010 (Substitution of smoke detection devices during temporary works).
Purpose
The purpose of this Standard is to define how emergency isolations of Fire Detection Equipment can be carried out remotely, and recorded in a controlled environment.
This Standard is intended to reduce station closure times in the event of confirmation of "No Fire", and when station staff cannot re-set main fire control panel.
