Purpose

This regulation establishes Army deployment and redeployment policies and delineates roles, responsibilities, command relationships, and authorities for deployment and redeployment planning, execution, and support. It applies to unit personnel or equipment movement in support of operational plans, overseas deployment training, training center rotations, re stationing, inactivation, and activation-directed moves.

Applicability. This regulation applies to the Active Army, Army National Guard/ Army National Guard of the United States, and the U.S. Army Reserve, unless otherwise stated.
