Purpose

This regulation sets policies and procedures for Inter-Service training for military and civilian personnel of the Department of Defense (DOD) and the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG). Throughout this publication, "military Services" refers to the DOD Services and the USCG. Training, as defined in this publication, includes some aspects of professional military education.

Applicability. This regulation applies to the Active Army, the Army National Guard/Army National Guard of the United States, and the U.S. Army Reserve, unless otherwise stated. It also applies to the active and Reserve Component of all the Services, to include the United States Coast Guard.
