scope:
This standard deals with the laying of cables and conduits and the construction and repair of ducting, and includes the installation of associated manholes, jointing chambers, poles, columns, distributing cabinets, etc. It also covers the breaking up of surfaces for the purpose of cable laying work.
This standard does not deal with the earthwork associated with cable laying (cf. DIN 18300), timbering to trenchwork (cf. DIN 18303) and road construction (cf. DIN 18315 to DIN 18318).
This standard does not cover
- trenchless pipelaying (cf. DIN 18319);
- outdoor installations forming part of domestic electrical supply systems rated for voltages up to 36 kV (cf. DIN 18382).
Clauses 1 to 5 of DIN 18299 shall also apply. In cases where the specifications of DIN 18299 contradict the present standard, the latter shall take precedence.
