This Part of the Defence Standard specifies the minimum non-statutory marking requirements for containers of 210 liters or less nominal capacity used for the supply, transport and storage of fuels, lubricants and associated products.

The marking requirements of this Standard are mandatory when specified in a contract or order, either by direct reference to this Standard or by the inclusion of reference to the requirements of Def Stan 91-66 or DEFCON 112CV.

The requirements of this Standard are complimentary to and compatible with the requirements of NATO STANAG 3149.
