Diese Norm legt ein photometrisches Verfahren zur Ermittlung des Gehaltes an Harnstoff und Ammoniak in Milch fest. Da die Ermittlung des Gehaltes an Harnstoff über die Bildung von Ammoniak verläuft, ist es erforderlich, den bereits in der Probe vorhandenen Gehalt an Ammoniak mitzubestimmen und zu berücksichtigen. Die Norm stellt ein alternatives Messverfahren zu DIN EN ISO 14637 dar.
Das Verfahren gilt für Rohmilch, Konsummilch und rekonstituierte Milch.
