Objective
This document is the DRM Interoperability Application Level Interfaces Interoperability Specification that is designed to meet the following objectives:
1. The specification focuses on Interoperability issues only.
2. The specification assumes that the DRM system is a black box.
3. The DRM Interoperability Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) to be addressed are as follows:
3.1. IPTV Receiving Device DRM Component Interface.
3.2. Server-Side Middleware to IPTV Receiving Device Software (limited to DRM-associated APIs). This interface is not specified in this standard and may be specified at a future date.
4. For both 3.1 and 3.2, the specification must provide the following:
4.1. APIs that enable the management of activities associated with the Downloadable Security Client (DSC) software.
4.2. APIs that enable the DRM Component to get access to device network services and storage media in a secure and coordinated manner. This interface is not specified in this standard and may be specified at a future date.
4.3. APIs that enable the DRM Component to get access to local storage media in a secure and coordinated manner.
