This specification covers the requirements of three types of 'track bonds' for connection across running rail joints:

  • Type A for use in surface locations
  • Type B for use in underground or tunnel locations
  • Type C for use in 25KV immunised areas

Purpose

The purpose of Track Bonds detailed in this Technical Specification is to ensure the continuity of the signal circuitry across rail joints. This specification covers the requirements for three types and two sizes of track bonds. Type A is for surface locations, type B is for use in underground locations and type C is for use in 25kV immunised areas. For ordering details of the relevant type and sizes refer to clause 5.2 of this specification.
