This book details instructions for:
- switching traction current on and off
- operating Short Circuiting Devices (SCDs) and Current Rail Indicator Devices (CRIDs)
- detecting earth faults and dealing with loss of high voltage supply.
It also details instructions for:
- switching traction current on safely at the start of Traffic Hours and off at the end of Traffic Hours
- switching traction current on and off when taking possessions
- operating section, isolating, changeover and coupling switches to change the management of traction current
- detecting and dealing with Direct Current (DC) traction earth faults
- undertaking planned power supply testing, reconfiguration and maintenance.
