PURPOSE
This Marshall Work Instruction (MWI) provides instructions for requesting mechanical fabrication work from the Engineering Directorate, Space Systems Department, Mechanical Fabrication Branch (ES23), including flight, test, ground support equipment (GSE), research, development, and facility hardware as well as outsourcing to offsite contractors. MSFC Form 3751 (Appendix A) and MSFC Form 4069 (Appendix E) are historically the primary approved method for initiating fabrication services by ES23. This MWI does not preclude the use of equivalent methods provided by or authorized by the Mechanical Fabrication Branch.
APPLICABILITY
a. This MWI applies to Center personnel, programs, projects, and activities including contractors and resident agencies to the extent specified in their respective contracts or agreements. ("Contractors," for purposes of this paragraph, include contractors, grantees, Cooperative Agreement recipients, Space Act Agreement partners, or other agreement parties.)
b. This MWI does not apply to the Michoud Assembly Facility (MAF)
