The requirements of Section I through 6 of this standard apply to mobile and stationary compaction equipment. Specifically excluded compaction such as those located in homes, apartments, cafeterias, schools, and other institutions where they may be operated by consumers, students, children, customers, and clients.

The requirements of Section 7 of this standard apply to mobile rear loading, side loading, front loading, and special collection compaction equipment used to receive, compacts, transport, and unload refuse to mobile frame and hots type equipment used to pick up, transport, discharge, and set of open-top or enclosed containers, or both, used for holding refuse; and to t vehicles used to receive and transport refuse unloading into mobile refuse collection equipment.

Purpose

The purpose of Section 1 through 7 of this standard is to establish safety requirements with respect to the manufacture, reconstruction, modification, maintenance, and operation of mobile equipment. The purpose of Section 1 through 6 and Section 8 of this standard is to establish safety requirements with respect to the manufacture, installation, reconstruction, modification, maintenance, and operation of stationary compactors.
