General. This standard applies to single- and multiple-spindle automatic screw /bar and chucking machines in which all tool movement is controlled by the machine. These machines are also equipped with work-feeding mechanisms so that when one piece is completely machined and ejected, other duplicate pieces may be produced automatically. The operation of these machines is continuous until they need to be supplied with work material, which may be in the form of bar stock or separate pieces, when a magazine or automatic loading attachment is used.
