This AD 2000-Merkblatt applies to the manufacture and testing of fittings made of unalloyed and alloyed steels for pressure vessels.

This AD 2000-Merkblatt does not apply to fittings for piping.

Supplementary to DIN EN 10253-2 (Butt-welding pipe fittings - Part 2: Non alloy and ferritic alloy steels with specific inspection requirements) and DIN EN 10253-4 (Butt-welding pipe fittings - Part 4: Wrought austenitic and austeniticferritic (duplex) stainless steels with specific inspection requirements), this AD 2000-Merkblatt specifies requirements for the manufacture, the required tests, their scope and the type of certificates for material tests.

For fittings that do not come within the scope of DIN EN 10253-2 or DIN EN 10253-4, this Merkblatt can be used as appropriate.

For reducers and caps > DN 50 or tees made by the mechanical working of bars, additional tests are specified for the initial material and the end product.

For caps according to DIN EN 10253-2, DIN EN 10253-4 and other fittings formed from sheet and/or by welding, AD 2000-Merkblatt HP 8/1 applies. With regard to dimensions and dimensional tolerances, the requirements of DIN EN 10253-2 and DIN EN 10253-4 apply .
