scope:
This Standard applies to any individual who controls, i.e. switches on and off electric traction supplies. The London Underground electric traction supply and distribution system is defined as the assets, plant and equipment in control rooms, substations and on the track that directly controls the supply of traction current to the operational railway. (see section 3.4 below) It does not include the 132kV, 22kV or 11kV distribution systems from which the DC traction supplies are derived.
The competence requirements apply to any individual employed within the London Underground Group of companies or their suppliers who carry out switching, regardless of the job title, grade or position.
This activity constitutes 'Safety Critical Work' as defined by the Railways (Safety Critical Work) Regulations 1994 in Regulation 2 (1) (b) (iii).
This standard replaces 2-01301-011 A1. The Standard has been re formatted and renumbered. There were no technical changes.
