This military handbook presents criteria for the fabrication and construction of closely controlled environmental areas in which the following can be performed at Naval Shore activities:
a) Quality control;
b) Laboratory techniques and precision control;
c) Repair, assembly, calibration, and tests of components;
d) Photoprocessing of high-level photoreconnaissance;
e) Microminiaturization
f) Loading and unloading of film magazines;
g) Film editing and cutting;
h) Print inspection;
i) Dust-free operations.
The requirements could make it necessary to achieve dust-free areas with precise control over temperature and humidity. In many instances, it is necessary to eliminate particles 0.3 micron and larger from the controlled area.
