scope:
INTRODUCTION
ISO 13715:2000, issue dated 15 th June 2000 (Technical drawings - Edges of undefined shape - Vocabulary and indications) has been adopted for representing edge conditions on Engineering Drawings.
Other Standards referenced in ISO 13715:2000 have not been adopted unless specifically referenced in the Ford Motor Company Engineering CAD & Drafting Standards.
Where ISO 13715:2000 does not cover a required edge condition then a separate detailed view or note may be used.
NOTE: If a note is to be used to define general edges of workpieces, the following note should be used and placed in the General Notes area of the drawing:
BURRS, FLASH AND/OR SHARP EDGES NOT TO EXCEED XX PERCENT OF MATERIAL THICKNESS OR XX mm IN HEIGHT PROVIDED THEY DO NOT AFFECT THE FUNCTION OF THE PART OR ITS SAFE INSTALLATION.
