DOPPLER VOR DISTRIBUTOR ASSEMBLY

active, Most Current
Organization: FAA
Publication Date: 15 February 1974
Status: active
Page Count: 22
scope:

- The equipment specified herein is a solid-state (non-rotating) distributor assembly which operates over the frequency range of 108 to 118 MHz. The equipment is intended for use in a Doppler VHF omnirange (VOR) facility. The equipment receives RF signal input from carrier and sideband transmitters (not required to be furnished under this specification). The equipment combines the functions of a distributor, goniometer, and audio generator. The distributor provides for sequential switching of the sideband transmitter outputs to a circular array of fifty(50) antennas (not required to furnished under this specification) at the rate of 30 cycles per second. The goniometer produces 30Hz upper and lower sidebands of the carrier transmitter frequency. The audio generator produces a 30Hz sinusoidal output. Timing and phase coherency between the distributor, goniometer, and audio generator outputs is provided by a master generator.
