scope:

This standard specifies the essential characteristics for household refrigerating appliances cooled by internal natural convection or forced air circulation, which are wholly factory assembled, and lays down the methods of test for the checking of these characteristics. The tests described in this standard are type tests. When it is necessary to verify the performance of a refrigerating appliance of a given type in relation to this standard, all the tests described should be applied to a single unit where practicable.
