scope:
This specification covers chemical fire extinguishing systems of the fixed (stationary) type whereby and potassium carbonate (K2CO3) solution (stowed in cylinder pressurized to 175 pounds per square inch (1b/in2), gage at 21.7 degrees Celsius (°C) with nitrogen) is expelled automatically or manually through a fixed piping system and suitably designed nozzles into burning deep fat fryers to extinguish the fire by specification of the surface fat. They may also discharge into exhaust systems. Control system interlocks are also included.
