scope:
This specification covers flexible-arm, incandescent, electric desk lights, with weighted base or screw-clamp base.
Desk lights covered by this specification shall be of the following types and classes (see 6.2):
Type I - Lights, desk, weighted base. Class 1 - Light, desk, weighted base with parabolic-shaped reflector. Class 2 - Light, desk, weighted base with trough-shaped reflector. Type II - Lights, desk, screw-clamp base. Class 1 - Light, desk screw-clamp base with parabolic-shaped reflector. Class 2 - Light, desk, screw-clamp base with trough-shaped reflector.
intended Use:
The lights are intended for use on desks, tables, drawing boards, benches machines, et cetera to shield the light from the worker's eyes and direct maximum intensity on the work area.
