1 Scope

This specification details the requirements of oil based prelube formulations that must be compatible with current production processes and paint systems. These materials combine the performance character-istics of both a rust preventive and a draw compound. The steel mills and processors must apply these materials at the following levels: 1.3 g/m 2 to 2.1 g/m 2 This should be calculated by a minimum of five mea-surements equally spaced across the width of the sheet. Any deviations from this requirement must be spelled out on the Metal Parts Specification (MPS sheet) or purchase order.
