This Defence Standard specifies the requirements for phenolic mouldings made from type QX material.

Compatibility with all explosives in all environments has not been established and design authorities should seek advice on particular applications from the Defence Research Agency, Fort Halstead, Sevenoaks, Kent TN14 7BP.

Attention is drawn to Def Stan 13-102 Testing of Materials which are Required to be Compatible with Explosives.

This Standard is intended for quality control. Design authorities should satisfy themselves that the quality defined in this Standard, in conjunction with the relevant drawing, will satisfy the design requirements. For aerospace applications, attention is drawn to the provisions of both BS 2G 100 and BS 3G 100.

NOTE: It is recommended that Def Stan 93-26 Guide to the Use of Defence Standards for Plastics Mouldings should be read in conjunction with this Standard.
