The instrument specified herein is a wide-range multi-purpose oscillator with a 30 dBm maximum output and a frequency range of 20 Hz to 40 kHz for use throughout the FAA communications system in making field measurements during installation and maintenance of electronic equipment for air traffic control and the navigational system. It is the intention of the Government to procure readily-available commercial equipment under this specification.
