This standard establishes equipment and procedure requirements for conducting the neutral salt spray test (NSS).
The neutral salt spray test is typically used to evaluate the corrosion resistance of metallic substrates and the corrosion preventative properties of coatings.
The neutral salt spray test is typically used for quality control and process control evaluations, and not for simulating field performance.
