PURPOSE.

This notice provides guidance for all principal inspectors (PI) and other assigned aviation safety inspectors (ASI) who oversee and authorize operators to conduct reduced visibility flight operations, including instrument landing system (ILS) Category II/III (CAT II/III) operations, under Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations (14 CFR) parts 91, 121, 125 and 135.
