scope:
This specification covers the requirements for the synchro signal converters (hereinafter referred to as converters) used for: (1) increasing the capacity of a synchro signal transmission system, (2) converting synchro transmission from either 60 to 400 hertz (Hz) or 400 to 60 Hz synchro signal transmission, (3) converting relative bearing signals to true bearing signals, (4) changing synchro speeds, and (5) isolating reflected oscillations from the input synchro bus.
Converters are classified according to the following characteristics, as specified (see 6.2 and 6.7). Beneficial comments (recommendations, additions, deletions) and any pertinent data which may be of use in improving this document should be addressed to: Commander, SEA 03R42, Naval Sea Systems Command, 2531 Jefferson Davis Hwy, Arlington, VA 22242-5160 by using the self-addressed Standardization Document Improvement Proposal (DD Form 1426) appearing at the end of this document or by letter.
The number and gear ratios of the input and output channels identified as specified in table I.
The accuracy of the 1/18 speed output of triple output converters identified as follows:
(a) 0 - Not applicable
(b) 1 - 0.2 degree accuracy
(c) 2 - 0.5 degree accuracy
The input and output voltages and frequencies identified as specified in table II.
The size and type of output synchros identified as specified in table III.
intended Use:
Converters are used for one or more of the following applications:
(a) To permit the operation of increased synchro loads.
(b) To permit the operation of a 400-Hz synchro load from a... View More
