Organization: NPFC
Publication Date: 28 September 1984
Status: inactive
Page Count: 44
scope:

This specification covers the requirements for synchro signal converters (hereinafter referred to as converter) used for increasing the capacity of a synchro signal transmission system, converting from 60 to 400 hertz (Hz) synchro transmission or from 400 to 60 Hz synchro signal transmission, converting relative bearing signals to true bearing signals, to change synchro speeds, and to isolate reflected oscillations from the input synchro signal bus.

Converters shall be of the following type designation, as specified (see 6.2.1):

The number and gear ratios of the input and output channels shall be identified as follows: Beneficial comments (recommendations, additions, deletions) and any pertinent data which may be of use in improving this document should be addressed to: Commander, Naval Sea Systems Command, SEA 55Z3, Department of the Navy, Washington, DC 20362 using the self-addressed Standardization Document Improvement Proposal (DD Form 1426) appearing at the end of this document or by letter.

A Single input - single output - one channel - direct coupled - (see figure 1). B Single input - single output - two independent channels - direct coupled - (see figure 1). C Single input - single output - three independent channels - direct coupled - (see figure 1). D Single input - single output - one channel - 2 to 1 gear ratio - (see figure 2). E Single input - single output - two independent channels - 2 to 1 gear ratio - (see figure 2). F Single input - single output - one channel - 1 to 2 gear ratio (see figure 2). G Single input - single output - two independent channels - 1 to 2 gear ratio (see figure 2). H Single input - triple output - 1 to 1/18, 1 and 36 gear ratio - (see figure 3). I Single input - triple output - 36 to 1/18, 1 and 36 gear ratio - (see figure 4). J Double input - triple output - 1 and 36 to 1/18, 1 and 36 gear ratio - (see figure 5). K Double input - double output - 1 and 36 to 1 and 36 gear ratio - (see figure 6). L Double input - triple output - 1 and 36 to 1/18, 1 and 36 gear ratio - (see figure 7).

The number of input and output channels also determine the number of input and output devices.

The accuracy of the 1/18 speed output of triple output converters shall be identified as follows:

1 0.2 degree accuracy 2 0.5 degree accuracy (see figures 3, 4, 5 and 7)

The input and output voltages and frequencies shall be identified as follows:

A 115 volts (V) - 60 Hz input - 115 V - 60 Hz output. B 115 V - 60 Hz input - 115 V - 400 Hz output. C 26 V - 60 Hz input - 26 V - 60 Hz output. D 26 V - 60 Hz input - 115 V - 400 Hz output. E 115 V - 400 Hz input - 115 V - 60 Hz output. F 26 V - 400 Hz input - 115 V - 400 Hz output. G 115 V - 400 Hz input - 26 V - 60 Hz output. H 26 V - 400 Hz input - 115 V - 60 Hz output. I 26 V - 60 Hz input - 115 V - 60 Hz output. J 115 V - 400 Hz input - 115 V - 400 Hz output. K 115 V - 60 Hz input - 26 V - 60 Hz output. L 26 V - 400 Hz input - 26 V - 60 Hz output. M 115 V - 60 Hz input - 26 V - 400 Hz output. N 115 V - 400 Hz input - 26 V - 400 Hz output. O 26 V - 60 Hz input - 26 V - 400 Hz output. P 26 V - 400 Hz input - 26 V - 400 Hz output.

The size and type of output synchros shall be identified as follows:

A 23CX - Synchro control transmitter. B 31CX - Synchro control transmitter. C 37CX - Synchro control transmitter. D 23CDX - Synchro control differential transmitter. E 37CDX - Synchro control differential transmitter. F 23TRX - Synchro torque receiver-transmitter. G 31TRX - Synchro torque receiver-transmitter. H 37TRX - Synchro torque receiver-transmitter. I 23TDX - Synchro torque differential transmitter. J 31TDX - Synchro torque differential transmitter. K 37TDX - Synchro torque differential transmitter.

intended Use:

Converter is used for one or more of the following applications:

(a) To permit the operation of increased synchro loads.

(b) To permit the operation of a 400-Hz synchro load from a... View More
