scope:
PURPOSE
To ensure that the contracted element supplying articles, materials, or services has a quality system and/or process controls that will assure their products meet Marshall Space Flight Center's (MSFC) specified requirements.
APPLICABILITY
This Instruction applies to evaluation of suppliers that will have quality requirements and/or special processes imposed within a purchasing contract, inter-Center agreements, and/or Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) between MSFC/NASA and other NASA partners. Limitations and depth of the evaluation process may be imposed by program/project quality planning based on criticality, mission success, cost, and schedule constraints.
