This instruction applies to:
The Office of the Secretary of Defense, the Military Departments, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the Combatant Commands, the Inspector General of the Department of Defense, and the Defense Agencies (hereafter referred to collectively as "the DoD Components").
The Defense Criminal Investigative Organizations (DCIOs) and all other DoD criminal investigative or police organizations that investigate crimes for which criminal history data reporting is required by this Instruction.
