This Standard relates to an air-drying paint suitable for priming the interior surfaces of ships. The paint is normally applied by brushing to aluminium alloys and steel surfaces and over coated with interior fire retardant paint to DEF STAN 80-78. Exceptionally it may be applied by spraying after suitable thinning with white spirit.

The paint may be applied as a primer to external aluminium surfaces and should afford protection under marine atmospheric conditions.
