scope:
This standard is intended for use in selecting the proper connector shell size and insert combination to fit particular MIL-C-915, MIL-C-24640, and MIL-C-24643 cables. In addition, it includes wiring information (cable conductor to connector contact assignments), data for selecting connector hardware accessories, and information regarding certain rectangular connectors.
This standard is to be used as guidance for general shipboard interfacing of cables and connectors. There may be specific applications which require a connector and cable combination other than the combination recommended by this standard.
General connectors shall be as specified in MIL-C-5015.
High density, high shock connectors shall be as specified in MIL-C-28840.
Rectangular connectors used for rack and panel and similar applications shall be as specified in MIL-C-28731.
Specific cables shall be as specified in MIL-C-915.
Lightweight low smoke cables shall be as specified in MIL-C-24640.
Standard low smoke cables shall be as specified in MIL-C-24643.
