scope:

This manual describes materials, equipment, and methods used to fabricate, repair, replace, and install sheet metal items. The manual is divided as follows.

a. Section I gives the introduction to the manual and includes basic safety precautions to be followed when handling sheet metal

b. Section II covers the standard trade practices and equipment used in sheet metal shops

c. Section III lists the various sheet metals and describes their characteristics, uses, maintenance, and unusual properties peculiar to each metal.

d. Section IV outlines the various methods used to join sheet metal together.

e. Section V covers the installation, maintenance, and repair of sheet metal in specific applications.

f. Appendixes are included in the back of the manual containing supplementary information in the form of tables and charts. A list of reference publications is included.
