The equipment covered by this specification are 3-watt minimum, solid-state, pretuned, multi-channel amplitude modulated VHF transceivers capable of operating on any channel in the band 118 - 136 MHz in either a 50 kHz or 25 kHz channel spacing environment. Modular construction of the transceiver shall facilitate a simple conversion of receiver selectivity for use in either the 25 kHz or 50 kHz channel spacing mode of operation. These transceivers will be used for emergency communications at FAA facilities.
