This Twenty-Fifth Edition of Transportation Materials is published in two parts. Part I contains specifications for materials, and Part II includes methods of testing and specifications for testing equipment. Part I contains 170 materials specifications and 35 Recommended Practices, of which most contain both English and Metric units of measure. Technical revisions were made in 66 of the standards since the Twenty-Fourth Edition, 34 standards were reconfirmed, three new standards were added, five standards were discontinued, and three standards were deleted. A number of specifications were included in this publication at the request of the AASHTO Subcommittee on Bridges and Structures.

This specification covers the quality and grading of fine aggregate for portland cement concrete used in pavements or bases, highway bridges, and incidental structures.
