The aim of this agreement is to protect personnel engaged in NATO operations from exposures to Radio Frequency (RF) fields, at levels that may be hazardous to health.

This agreement does not address effects such as electromagnetic interference (EMI) nor cover risks associated with electro-explosive devices. For the purpose of this agreement, the RF fields of interest range from 3kHz to 300 GHz.
