a. This DID identifies the format and content preparation instructions for preservation and packing data resulting from the work task described by 4.1 of MIL-STD-2073-1. The data must be prepared for common, selective, and special group items defined in MIL-STD-2073-1.

b. This DID is applicable whenever packaging data specified by appendix E of MIL-STD-2073-1 is submitted by contractors to the DOD contracting activity (packaging organization).

c. When packaging data is being generated by DI-ALSS-81529, do not use DI-PACK-80120.

d. When a Special Packaging Instruction (SPI) is required, the instruction shall be prepared in accordance with DI-PACK-80121B in addition to submitting information specified in this DID for special group items.

e. This DID supersedes DI-PACK-80120A.
