The standard specifies the quality requirements for plain end submerged arc welded tubes manufactured from steel types listed in table 3 which are applied for pressure purposes at room temperature, at low temperatures or at elevated temperatures under conditions where the creep properties are not the ruling characteristics for design. It covers longitudinally and sperally welded tubes.
