This Standard applies to 120 V (nominal), 60 Hz luminaires, complete with a photocell or photoelectric controller* and supporting members as may be applicable to provide automatic dusk-to-dawn area illumination. A typical dusk-to-dawn luminaire is shown in Figure 1. * For convenience, the term controller is used herein, except as otherwise stated.
This Standard covers the minimum electrical, photometric, and mechanical performance requirements for dusk-to-dawn luminaires.
The light sources that may be used in dusk-to-dawn luminaires covered by this Standard are listed in Table 1.
The photometric classifications of a dusk-to-dawn luminaire covered by this Standard are listed in Table 2.
This Standard covers the electrical performance of ballasts used with dusk-to-dawn luminaires covered by this Standard.
This Standard covers the electrical, mechanical, and photometric characteristics of photoelectric controllers used with dusk-to-dawn luminaires covered by this Standard.
