This instruction applies to all U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps aircraft EPSMs for which NAVAIR has logistics and engineering management responsibility, with the exception of prototype and experimental models beginning with a letter "X" or "Y". Enclosure (1) provides procedural guidelines to be followed in executing AEMS. All TYCOMs and reporting activities, government and commercial, shall adhere to the procedures in this instruction. The procedures of this instruction shall be made a contractual requirement for all non-organic support of such EPSMs.

Purpose. To prescribe reporting procedures for the Navy Aircraft Engine Management System (AEMS) as outlined in reference (a) through (d). This system is designed to provide accurate and timely AEMS data to the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), Naval Inventory Control Point (NAVICP) and Air Type Commanders (TYCOMs). This instruction established guidelines that will be used by all aircraft engine custodians for submitting AEMS data.
