This specification is for pad-mounted switch gear to be used in a medium-voltage 60 Hz, four-wire, grounded wye primary loop feed distribution system. The switch gear shall be adaptable for functioning as a primary disconnect switch with overload and short circuit protection, and as a loop tap switch to furnish power to the primary of transformers fed from a loop circuit at airports. The switch gear shall also be adaptable for installation in manholes in areas where above ground installation is restricted. The switch gear shall be single phase or three phase with automation to the extent specified in the type listed herein.
