This specification defines the requirements for a single-pack 'low-lead' priming paint for the protection of galvanized steel. A single coat of this paint applied to clean bare galvanized steel at a dry-film thickness of 25 μm should protect the metal against corrosion for a period of not less than 12 months in all natural environments.

Normally the paint shall be pigmented to have a colour approximately matching colour No 14-C-35 in BS 4800.
