This standard deals with the inspection of workpieces dimensioned and toleranced in accordance with ANSI B4.2. This document is primarily concerned with the inspection of plain cylindrical workpieces, but the inspection principles given herein can also be used for the inspection of other geometric shapes.

This standard is subdivided into four sections as follows:

3. Limit Indicating Gages (Comparators)

4. Inspection by Measurement

Considerations for the choice of inspection methods described in Sections 2,3 and 4 are provided in 1.4.6.
