scope:
This specification covers the requirements for carbon steel and corrosion resistant steel aircraft control flexible wire rope. The wire rope, Type I should be capable of operation within a −54° C to +121° C (−65° F to +250° F) temperature range in wind, dust, fuel and oil spills, in wash-down and other environmental stresses and aircraft experiences. Type II wire rope should be capable of operation within a −54 °C to +94° C (−65° F to +200 °F) temperature range in wind, dust, fuel and oil spills, in wash-down and other environmental stresses and aircraft experiences.
intended Use:
The wire rope covered by this specification is intended for use in aircraft flight control systems applications where high resistance is needed against corrosion, abrasion, and fatigue wear.
