scope:
This Standard specifies the methods for determining seasonal energy utilization efficiency (SEUE) and annual fuel utilization efficiency (AFUE) for
(a) oil-fired furnaces having an input of up to and including 66 kW (225,000 Btu/h); and
(b) boilers having an input of up to and including 88 kW (300,000 Btu/h). The tests contained in the Standard are not intended to represent actual efficiencies realized in the field. These tests provide a standardized method of comparing relative unit performance.
This Standard establishes minimum efficiency levels for oil-fired furnaces and boilers.
This Standard applies to the oil-fired portion of a combination or multifuel burning appliance.
