This specification covers the requirements for the packaging (preservation, packing, and marking) of hardware valves such as globe valves, angle valves, check valves, cross valves, cylinder valves, gate valves, relief valves, and associated fittings and flanges for shipment and storage. This document does not provide packaging requirements for valves, fittings, and flanges intended for use in gas generating, fluid, and pneumatic systems with cleanliness and preservation requirement standards exceeding those specified herein.
